National Lampoon and Web3

National Lampoon (“NL”) was founded by four alumni of the Harvard Lampoon. NL began as a humor magazine that ran from the 1970s – 1990s. With its absurdist, irreverent, satirical/subversive approach, NL pushed the boundaries of social norms and impacted pop culture in a meaningful way. From the letters to the editor, to the fake advertisements, the entire magazine was utilized as a canvas of energetic satirical expression.

The magazine expanded into film, radio, live theater and other media. Most notable were: NL Radio Hour (which became SNL), Lemmings, and cult classic films like Animal House, Vacation and Van Wilder. The original Writers Room was at the crux of this success.

Today, National Lampoon is focused on building in the Web3 space with the launch of a creator first Web3 studio, and its first non-fungible token (NFT) named the Poison Pill. The NFT will be an access pass to National Lampoon’s Web3 platform – a destination focused on the intersection of artists, audience, comedic entertainment, digital assets, experiences, and IP rights enabled by blockchain innovation.

The Poison Pill is the key to National Lampoon’s in the metaverse. The genesis collection will be an all-access pass that will provide exclusive membership to all-things comedy under the National Lampoon umbrella.
